FROM CHRISTINE
Hi, my name is Christine Martin, for those of you who know me I will be in my second year in the Sportsman division and for those who don't know me I would like to tell you a little about myself. I raced go-karts for 3 years at Can-Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville, New York and numerous racetracks in Pennsylvania, Snydersville Raceway, Borgers Speedway and Hamlin Speedway. I received 3rd, 4th and 5th place High Points at numerous tracks and won both Junior Restricted Division Lite and Heavy at the Motorama in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in February, 2005. Then for two years I raced a 600cc Modified Lite at Evans Mills and Can-Am Motorsports Park. I received High Point for the 2006 race season for the Modified Lite Class at both Evans Mills and Can-Am Motorsports Park. Last year I came in 12th in points in the Sportsman Division at Can-Am and 14th in points at Evans Mills. I also had an opportunity to race at Penn Can Speedway in Pennsylvania when Evans Mills was not racing the Sportsman division. Everyone at Penn Can welcomed us with open arms and I will be returning there to race at times this year.
Last year, my Rookie year was an experience in good yet difficult ways. We learned a lot and will continue to learn throughout this race season. Some nights it was frustrating because I was learning how to communicate with my crew about the handling of my racecar. But at the end of the season my Troyer handled so much better than my previous car that I was able to concentrate more on my driving than fighting with my car and trying to tell my crew about the race car.
I am so excited for this year because Christine Martin Racing will have many positive changes. This year we will be racing 2007 Troyer chassis. The last couple races of last year I drove a Troyer. I felt very confident and comfortable, and my driving showed it. I would like to thank Mr. Colton of Troyer for all the help that he has extended to my team. We are thrilled to be on board with Troyer this race season. Christine Martin Racing will also have a 2rd Troyer race car, this one will be set up to run ROC Open Sportsman Motor Races.
Racing is a huge part of my life. I get to travel with my family and meet new fans and racers. I have a great relationship with my dad, Wayne and my Uncle Roger who are part of my pit crew. During the off-season, I have been busy with many different things. In November, 2007, I finally had surgery to relieve my severe migraines. The surgery has seemed to be a success. Also, I decided to open the Race to Learn Foundation, a charitable organization to benefit children like myself with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia. You can make a donation to my Foundation through my website or by contacting Mr. Rhody Spooner, Secretary of my Foundation at (315)482-6412. I am continuing to visit the local hospital with my therapy dog, C-Bisket. C-Bisket is my four year old white boxer.
I would also like to proudly announce the addition of another major sponsor; Sundance Leisure of Watertown, owners Brian and Mary Frazier. Sundance Leisure specializes in Swimming Pools, Hot Tubs, Fireplaces and much more. They will complement my primary sponsor Meade Optical of Watertown and Lowville, as well as other sponsors, Nationwide Insurance, Eugene Gamble Agent also of Watertown and Creek Bend Lawn Care of the Thousand Islands Region. My sponsors are the best. They always come through for me not only during race season but through the entire year. They are always involved with my life personally and professionally, as a young racer this benefits me in every way.
I will be attending the Syracuse Race Show in March, 2008 to represent my home tracks of Evans Mills and Can-Am Motorsports Park. I will also be at the Watertown Builders Exchange Show at the Watertown Fairgrounds for my Sponsor Sundance Leisure, April 4, 5 and 6th. Hope I will get to see you at one of these shows. I will be racing on Friday nights at Thunder Alley at Evans Mills on Friday nights, Can Am Motorsports Park in Lafargeville on Saturday nights, at Penn Can in Pennsylvania on the Friday nights that Thunder Alley does not have the Sportsman Division and Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY on Sunday.
Along with my sponsors there are a lot of people who I would like to thank. Rhody Spooner a great friend and neighbor, Kurt Mesmer for helping my dad with my car and my great web site at racer81.com or Christine Martin Racing, Billy Gill of Signtech for the awesome graphics he continues to design for my car, my Grandmother, Uncle Roger, Grampa and Grandmother Martin, and especially my Mom and Dad for all their hard work, love, devotion and most of all for believing in my dreams and me. They continue to give me the tools necessary to achieve the things I want at this point in my life.
To all my fans who have encouraged and helped me, your support is priceless to me and greatly appreciated. I hope to make you and the entire North Country proud not only of my racing accomplishments, but my personal undertakings that I give back to my community.
SEE YOU AT THE TRACK, NOW LETS GO RACING.

FROM CHRISTINE’S PARENTS, WAYNE AND CHRISTINA
Many people ask us how we could let our little girl race, especially at the speed she races. Our answer is simple, racing is Christine's dream; as long as she is safe and happy we couldn't ask for anything more. As parents, we could not be more fulfilled than to see our child do something that she loves. Seeing her get out of that racecar with a big smile that could light up a dark room is priceless. That's what makes all our hard work worthwhile.
Honestly, I can't say that her racing doesn't make me nervous as a mom. If you ask her father if he is ever nervous, he will tell you that because of the maturity, focus, level headedness, race etiquette and responsibility she has shown, he has all the faith in the world in her. If he didn't have that faith she wouldn't be in the racecar at all. Christine has many responsibilities other than just driving the car, every week her trailer must be cleaned inside and out, all her racing equipment cleaned and organized including the racecars. And her homework must be completed for the week. Christine and her father perform all the maintenance on her car together. She also finds time to work in her community with her Therapy Dog.
We believe it's obvious that racing is a family oriented sport. In this age family bonding is very important and sometimes a lost commodity with all the responsibilities that parents have. Taking one on one time with your young children to race is something that you as a parent will find very gratifying and an experience that you and children will never forget. Racing is teaching, coaching and working with your own children rather than an anonymous coach. Christine and her father have established an unbreakable bond through racing, she has learned to communicate with him on any issue whether it be racing or day to day concerns that a teenager may have.
Christine has many great goals for the future besides racing. Hopefully her racing career will help her to accomplish some of the goals she has set for herself. Every time Christine goes out on the track we tell her we love her, to have a great time and do her best. When racing is no longer fun for her, we know it is time to stop, but I really don't see that happening any time soon.
There are many people we should thank. So many people have given Christine and her love of racing so much support, especially her sponsors. There are lots of people including other racers who understand how passionate she really is about her racing and how good she wants to become. As parents we are extremely proud of our daughter not only as a driver but of the young adult she is becoming. However, the list of individual people would go on and on for pages, therefore we wish to say THANK YOU to everyone.
To further speak about our Sponsors, Christine Martin Racing has the best Sponsors in the North Country. Her sponsors are willing to do what it takes to support this race team. Her sponsors want to be involved almost daily with Christine not just for racing but the development of a young adult and her goals for her community.
Christine is phonologically dyslexic which means that she does not hear certain word sounds and letters as someone who is not dyslexic. For three years Christine was fortunate to be accepted into a specialized school for dyslexic children. The tools that Christine was able to utilize while she was in this school enabled her to learn in her own way. The forming of her non-profit organization Race to Learn Fountain will allow her to help other children.
As parents, we are blessed to have Christine, we are extremely proud not only of her racing accomplishments but also of her strong commitments with her schooling, her beliefs, and the time that she volunteers within her community. We are grateful to you, her fans for your continued love and support, as well as being around her during her young adult years and hopefully beyond. We hope that you will continue to support Christine Martin Racing.
Thank you. The MARTINS
